ACE Unit

Ø Minimum age 25 years

Ø Commitment will be a minimum of 60 volunteer hours per year

Ø There is no pay for your services

Ø Program participants will not be allowed to carry weapons while volunteering

Ø Submit to an interview

Ø All applicants must pass a background check

Ø Must possess a valid MI Drivers License

Ø Days and hours of operation will be Monday through Saturday

o 11:00 AM to 7 PM (two 4-hour blocks)

Ø Must be available for court testimony (normally Mon-Fri 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)

Ø Training will be 16 hours (Modified for existing reservists)

o Training will be held in the evening in four hour blocks

Ø Cost associated with uniform will be the participants’ responsibility

o Embroidered polo uniform Shirt @ $20.00 each

o Casual black pants (no denim/jeans)

o Macomb County Sheriff uniform baseball hat @ $15.00

o Black shoes or boots

The ACE application is available in both Word and PDF format. You can fill them out on your computer prior to printing them out. They must be printed out, signed, and returned to the Sheriff's Office for you to be considered for ACE.
