The Following are programs provided to the Senior Citizens of Macomb County:

  •  Cell phone Program  Security blankets in the form of 911-dialing cell phones soon will be in the hands of many Macomb County senior citizens.
Seniors greet Macomb Sheriff’s Office visitors
Senior citizen volunteers will greet visitors at the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office in Mount Clemens under a new program launched by Sheriff Mark Hackel. The 30 Macomb County senior volunteers will staff a booth near the front entrance of the jail from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, and until 7 p.m. on Wednesdays to answer questions and provide “a more comfortable setting,” Hackel said.
Seniors Greet the public
Free boat safety course offered for seniors
Macomb County Sheriff Mark Hackel has started a boat safety course for senior citizens to refresh their skills on the water.

The free course consists of two half-day sessions, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 14 and 21 at the Macomb County Sheriff's Office Training Division on Elizabeth immediately west of Groesbeck.

The program is co-sponsored by the Macomb County Senior Citizens Service Department. Phone Dana Lazechko at the senior department at (586) 466-4545.
