The Following are programs provided to the Senior Citizens of Macomb County:

Seniors greet Macomb Sheriff’s Office visitors
Senior citizen volunteers will greet visitors at the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office in Mount Clemens under a new program launched by Sheriff Mark Hackel. The 30 Macomb County senior volunteers will staff a booth near the front entrance of the jail from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, and until 7 p.m. on Wednesdays to answer questions and provide “a more comfortable setting,” Hackel said. Free boat safety course offered for seniors
Macomb County Sheriff Mark Hackel has started a boat safety course for senior citizens to refresh their skills on the water.

The free course consists of two half-day sessions, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 14 and 21 at the Macomb County Sheriff's Office Training Division on Elizabeth immediately west of Groesbeck.

The program is co-sponsored by the Macomb County Senior Citizens Service Department. Phone Dana Lazechko at the senior department at (586) 466-4545.
