Youth Bureau
The Youth Services Division falls under the command of the
Detective Bureau. A detective sergeant is
assigned to oversee the Youth Services officers, the
School Liaison officers, the
DARE officers and the GREAT
officers. Youth officers are assigned to this division to handle all criminal
complaints involving juvenile suspects. This division also includes liaison
officers, which are assigned in the L’Anse Creuse and Chippewa Valley School
Districts. Liaison officers are in the schools to interact and communicate with
the student body and assist with problems, concerns and questions. The
DARE program is taught numerous
school districts throughout Macomb County. These districts include Armada,
Chippewa Valley, L’Anse Creuse, Mt. Clemens, New Haven, Romeo and Utica. DARE is
also taught in numerous non-public schools throughout Macomb County. The GREAT
program is taught in the middle schools to educate children on how to avoid
becoming involved in gangs and an alternative to violence.
