Currently Macomb County Sheriff Mark Hackel
has two Deputies teaching D.A.R.E. in two public school districts and several
private schools. Both D.A.R.E. instructors also work with various organizations
to assist our youth.
Deputy Jeff Gentner has been a Deputy since 1995. He became a certified D.A.R.E.
instructor in 2002 and is currently assigned to
L’Anse Creuse School District
and some private schools. Deputy Gentner is on the D.A.R.E. Officer’s
Association of Michigan executive Board as the Sheriff’s Representative. In
addition to D.A.R.E., Deputy Gentner Teaches G.R.E.A.T.
(Gang Resistance Education and Training), is a fire investigator and a scuba
diver for the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy Biafore has been a Deputy since 1999. He became a certified D.A.R.E.
instructor in 2001 and is currently assigned to
Chippewa Valley
School District and some private schools. Deputy Biafore also teaches
G.R.E.A.T. (Gang Resistance Education and Training)
D.A.R.E. is a new 9-week curriculum taught one day a week plus a graduation
ceremony.

Healthy Decisions
Alcohol and Drug Awareness
Identifying and Resisting Peer Pressure
DARE is in all 50 states and 40 countries plus the U.S. Department of Defense
Schools worldwide.
